[edit] [top]History of the Saqoic Script

Although the Saqoic languages have been spoken for around 2000 years, the Saqoic language was written for 500 years, when the Saqoic people who settled in the south of Terredae, now known as Saqoidae, came in contact with the Terredaic, and then discovered, learnt and adopted the Terredaic Script for the Saqoic language. During the inauguration of the Saqoic script, many Terredaic consonants and vowels, and all the tones, not found in Saqoic were stripped away, and diphthong glides and final consonants were raised. Consonant clusters and diphthongs are also written in Saqoic in a sequence.
[edit] [top]Saqoic Phonotactics

All Saqoic syllables must have at least, one initial consonant and one vowel. Syllables may also have diphthongs, and up to one consonant cluster, either initial or final. All consonant clusters have a [ɾ] glide, which may only cluster with voiceless consonants (with the exception of [h] finally), nasals (with the exception of [ɲ] initially) and sibilants. [a], [e], and [o] cannot appear in the same diphthong. [h] can not appear finally. Loanwords may not follow these rules.

[edit] [top]Initial Consonant Clusters

Initial clusters consists of a consonant, plus r (No conscript set up). Not all consonants can be part of an initial consonant cluster. If there is an initial consonant cluster, there cannot be a final consonant cluster.

[edit] [top]Vowels

Vowel letters are mandatory in each syllable and always appear on top of a consonant, in the case below, by the null consonant ʌ (No conscript set up). However the vowel letters can appear on any initial consonant/cluster.

[edit] [top]Final Consonant Clusters

Final consonant clusters consist of R (No conscript set up), plus a consonant. Not all consonants can be part of a final consonant cluster. If there is a final consonant cluster, there cannot be an initial consonant cluster.
