About Brisegnan Brisegna is a country that, within the last fifty years, survived a civil war over whether the dead Queen's granddaughter (the Heir of her eldest son) would inherit the Throne or whether her son (the second son) would inherit. Brisegnan law dictated that only people raised in Brisegna could inherit the throne, leaving the granddaughter's (Princess Elsabet's) next Heir her seventh cousin (Ignacio of the Blood). Elsabet consequently married Ignacio, a mid-ranking cont, and defeated her uncle's and sister's army. This war is known for being controversial both for its legal ramifications (the favoring of children over siblings) and for ethnic reasons: Queen Elsabet and her immediate family were all Galians while King Ignacio and his supporters were all Ibarrians, who were traditionally lower-class and have a marginalized dialect.
