About Phichene
Phichene is an Indo-European language, derived from Proto-Italic. Old Phichene would be a sister language to Latin, Oscan, Umbrian, and other old Italic languages. A distinct feature of Phichene is the difference between the spelling and the pronunciation - the spelling is very etymological while the pronunciation underwent a series of radical sound changes. Phichene preserves the three-way gender distinction in nouns, as well as five cases. Verbs have collapsed into three main classes and are inflected for number, person, tense and mood.
