About Jiblar
Jiblar is mostly an artlang, meant to be easy to learn (esp. for English or Spanish speakers) and usable/pronounceable with a lot of features used to be funny or express emotions. It is also built to be useful for talking about nature or things like farming/hunting, but can be used to talk about anything. It's a pretty informal and slangy language, with a lot of contractions, shortenings, stereotyped phrases, and sentence-words. It has a large inventory of swear words. It is almost all based off English and Spanish. Its name comes from a combination of "gibberish" "bla" and "bar" (from the word barbarian) or from "gibberish" and "hablar" (Spanish for talk). I tried to make sure it wasn't a relex, kitchen sink, or just boring (tell me how i did w/ dat).
Most words sound similar to English or Spanish words (if I didn't see a reason to change them) but the writing system is pretty different. It has 43 letters (most are based on the Latin alphabet) and doesn't use capitalization. It has letters for every phoneme plus a few others. Most words can be written in less letters than Eng or Span. The weirdest thing about the phonology is the one click sound (used in a lot of words related to horses or naughty children). The weirdest thing about the orthography is the use of $ for ʃ and ¢ for t͡ʃ. It's spelling is all phonetic except for very short common words (almost any word that can be written as ~2 letters can be written as 1) and a few "silly words," which are words that are spelled in an unphonetic way for comedic effect. The grammar and punctuation are also different than the source languages.
