About Mephalian
Mephalian is the lingua franca of Bazinar. It comes from ancient Aldascinian, and was spoken by the Esperans. It separated from it's cousin language, Alzi Arani, around the 5th century AM, which kept far more similarities with Irithilln, which is a distantly related language to the east. By the beginning of the SSE Mephalian and Alzi Arani were entirely different languages.
The grammar of Mephalian is very strongly based on word order, as there are no declensions in nouns. It relies on prefixes and suffixes to change means, such as plurals, possessives, and comparisons.

Our Father in heaven, / May your name be honored. / May your kingdom come. / May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. / Give us today our daily bread; / And forgive us our debts, as we ourselves have forgiven our debtors. / And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. / For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory / Forever, amen.[view all texts]
