About Saksakarat Saksakarat is a group of closely related languages. The most widely spoken variety is Katungapput. Education-wise formal Milliputtasut is often chosen as the standard.

Saksakarat languages/dialects are generally divided into these categories
-Modern dialects - kujuutut matapisut (Milliputtasut, Katungapput)
-Seiti-kusut dialects - kujuutut seitinenkusutit (Tallossut, Päiväntunnsit, Õusat)
-Kymmetynti-kusut dialects - kujuutut kummetuntinenkusutit (Jyskytörvit, Yhystöistät)
-Sapni dialects - kujuutut sapaanat (Pulliannit, Silluanut)
-Traditional dialects - kujuutut ikasuksit(Tungipulluat, Õunassâd, Kanssitut)
(to be explained in more detail in journal)

Saksakarat languages/dialects all (or almost all) share these features
-4th person(except for Pulliannit and Jyskytörvit)
-3 tenses - past present and furture (except for Katungapput, Jyskytörvit and Yhystöistät)
-ma-ka-ra-sa-ta-la-ha-pa rhyme(or a variant) (except for Modern dialects)
-6 or more grammatical cases (except for Õusat, Silluanut, Pulliannit and Päiväntunnsit)

Some or a bit of Saksakarat languages/dialects share these features
-2 genders - common and neuter (Katungapput, Silluanut, Pulliannit)
-No genders (Milliputtasut, Jyskytörvit and Yhystöistät)

[edit] [view] Milliputtasut kuintatuk (Casual Milliputtasut)Casual Milliputtasut, or generally Milliputtasut is the 2nd most spoken Saksakarat language/dialect with 1230000 speakers (34% of the total speakers). It has a lot of loans and slangs from Katungapput (Tursit). It is almost fully intelligible with Katungapput and is most unintelligible with the Traditional dialects.
[edit] [view] Jyskytörvit (Jyskytörvit)Jyskytörvit is the 3rd most widely spoken Saksakarat dialect(8.7%) with 310000 and is also the most widely spoken Kusut dialect (58% of the total speakers). It is a Kymmetynti-kusut dialect and is highly intelligible with Yhystöistät. It is also mostly intelligible with the Seiti-kusut dialects (Tallossut, Päiväntunnsit and Õusat) and the Modern dialects(Milliputtasut and Katungapput), and is unintelligible with other dialects.
[edit] [view] Kanssitut (Kanssitut)Kanssitut is the least spoken Saksakarat dialect with only 1000 speakers. It is a traditional dialect and is the 2nd least divergent from old Saksakarat. Kanssitut is most intelligible with Tungipulluat and is unintelligible to other dialects.
[edit] [view] Katungapput (Katungapput)Katungapput is the most widely spoken Saksakarat language, with 1,530,000 speakers in total(42% of all the speakers). It is one of the 2 Modern dialects, with the other one being Milliputtasut. Katungapput is understood by around 73% of the speakers and because it is a Modern dialect it is least intelligible with the Traditional dialects (Tungipulluat, Õunassâd and Kanssitut).
[edit] [view] Õunassâd (Õunassâd)Õunassâd is a Saksakarat dialect with only 4000 speakers. It is the least intelligible dialect, so much to the point where it could almost be classified as its own group. Õunassâd boasts the highest number in terms of phonemes and characters in its alphabet compared with other Saksakarat dialect. It is a traditional dialect despite being very divergent to old Saksakarat mainly because its divergence is not caused by influence.
[edit] [view] Õusat (Õusat)Õusat is a Seiti-kusut dialect with 27000 speakers. It is the least widely spoken Kusut dialect. Õusat is slightly intelligible with all Kusut dialect, especially Päiväntunnsit. Õusat is barely intelligible with Modern Dialects and is unintelligible with Traditional dialects.
[edit] [view] Päiväntunnsit (Päiväntunnsit)Päiväntunnsit is a Seiti-kusut dialect with 33000 speakers. Päiväntunnsit is intelligible with Õusat, slightly intelligible with other Kusut dialects and Modern Dialects. Päiväntunnsit is unintelligible with other dialects. It also has the smallest phonological inventory out of all the Saksakarat dialects.
[edit] [view] Měčakůški (Pulliannit)Pullianit has 110000 speakers (3% of the Saksakarat speakers) and is the most widely spoken Sapni dialect. It is fairly intelligible with Silluanut, slightly intelligible with Tallossut and mostly unintelligible with other dialects. It is heavily influenced by Tallossut and has a lot of Tallossut loanwords (Talěcko utvokatý).
[edit] [view] Šlečko (Silluanut)Silluanut is the 2nd least spoken Saksakarat dialect with only 2000 speakers. It is a Sapni dialect and shares high intelligibility with Pulliannit. It shares little intelligibility with other dialects.
[edit] [view] Tallossut (Tallossut)Tallossut is the 5th most widely spoken Saksakarat dialect(around 3% of the total speakers) with 120000 speakers and is the 2nd most widely spoken Kusut dialect. Tallossut is more intelligible with the Kymmetynti-kusut dialects (Jyskytörvit, Yhystöistät) than its sister Seiti-kusut dialects (Päiväntunnsit, Õusat) surprisingly. It is fairly intelligible with the Modern dialects, slightly intelligible with Pulliannut and is mostly unintelligible with other dialects.
[edit] [view] Tungipulhaat (Tungipulluat)Tungipulluat is the 4th most widely spoken Saksakarat language(around 5% of the total speakers) with 170000 speakers and is also the most widely spoken Traditional dialect with around 97% of those speakers speaking this variety. Tungipulluat is also the least influenced dialect and the least divergent dialect from old Saksakarat. Tungipulluat is slightly intelligible to Kanssitut and is almost unintelligible with other dialects including Õunassâd despite it being a Traditional dialect.
[edit] [view] Yhystöstäät (Yhystöistät)Yhystöistät has 43000 speakers and is one of the Kymmetynti-kusut dialects(the other being Jyskytörvit). It is highly intelligible with Jyskytörvit, somewhat intelligible to the Modern dialects(Milliputtasut, Katungapput) and Seiti-kusut dialects (Tallossut, Päiväntunnsit, Õusat) and is unintelligible with other dialects.
