About Tagdamun

"We can only say we are free from the chains from our past if we do not cling onto it dearly."
- Tagdamun proverb
kaayuq pudatim sa sulgi ni tagdamun ug kuydil pambansa ni damunlupa
Welcome to the page of Tagdamun, the national language of Qenuga
Tagdamun, officially Kuydil Tagdamun, is one of the two official languages of Qenuga alongside
Cienugueza. A language descended from and inspired by the Tagalog language of the Philippines, Tagdamun is the standard language of all the Tagalog varieties spoken throughout the country by more than 600 million people as of the 2900s.
Tagdamun, composed of the morphemes tag- "from" and damun (shortening of Damunlupa for Qenuga), became a national language during the Tagdamun Revolution of the 2600s that followed after the War of Colors.
The Tagdamun language is generally conservative towards loanwords as Chungganese scholars have an aversion towards them, citing "unintelligibility concerns". Despite this, the language still hosts many loan words, especially pertaining to food items and place names.
