How it came to be
This public article was written by [Deactivated User] on 6 Dec 2017, 10:39.

[comments] Marianese is set in an alternative history where, somehow, the Roman empire reached the Baltic tribes around the Baltic sea some time after Christianity had become the state religion of the Roman empire, but before the Baltic languages had decidedly split from one another. This means that the Vulgar Latin version that came to the Baltic states underwent a combination similar sound changes to those that the Baltic languages underwent in order to separate from one another.
