About Proto-Atwo
Proto-Atwo is the proto-language of the Atwo languages, inspired by the languages of the Pre-Hellenic substrate, primarily Eteocretan and Eteocypriot but to a lesser extent such "Tyrrhenian" languages as Lemnian and Etruscan. All in all, they are meant to be an answer to the Minoan civilization, (per the leaping bull on the flag) and like the Minoans, the Atwo urheimat has been definitively located on the island of Athara (P.Atwo: Aθre), similar to Crete, the largest island on which Atwo civilization existed, along with much smaller outlying islands. Eventually the Atwo languages would be displaced, enveloped and assimilated into the Argotide superstrate. Unlike the Dingirmeš languages that survived by a handful speakers into the modern age, Atwo languages completely disappeared in the classical age, survived only by a considerable number loan words grafted into the Argotide lexicon.
The Atwo languages are written with an imperfect syllabary similar to and inspired by Linear B. They exhibit an ergative-absolutive alignment, rather fluid PoS (verbs can be nouns, nouns can be adjectives, etc.), free word order (though VSO is preferred), and a vowel-heavy lexicon.
