Ipanyu nouns can have four different cases and two numbers. There are also two genders, masculine and feminine. Gender is marked with a prefix and a suffix, the last one only in plurals. Feminine singular has a change in the last consonant which becomes voiceless. Singulars also voice the first consonant after the prefix. Case is marked with two prefixes. There is a prefix l- which is used on non-nominative cases. Dative and genitive have another prefix. Nominative is zero. Masculine singular has the oblique (non-nominative) and the gender prefix fused, nominative and genitive with a portmanteau morpheme with gender. Feminine and plurals are regular.
