The split between Town Speech and Plattdytch occurred in late 1400s, after that, few sound changes took place in both sides.
w > ʋ (this sound change occured after the influx of Sino-Xenic words)
f > p / _C
break of initial and final clusters (only in some varieties)
a > ɔ / C[+coronal]_ŋ
a > ɔ / _lC | _l#
unstressed final /o:/ dropped in most words(the word /mɪɫdo:/ "mildew" is an exception, possibly because it is interpreted as a derivation of /do:/ "dew")
